The Government of Qatar has handed over brand-new, modern Toyota Land Cruiser 2025 model vehicles to Tanzania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, in a ceremony held today in Dar es Salaam.
The vehicles were donated free of charge and without any conditions, as a gesture aimed at strengthening diplomatic relations between the two nations.
The handover was led by the Ambassador of Qatar to Tanzania, H.E. Fahad Rashid Al-Muraikhi, who represented the State of Qatar. On behalf of Tanzania, the vehicles were received by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Hon. Mahmoud Thabit Kombo.
Speaking during the event, Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo expressed gratitude to the Government of Qatar for the generous donation, noting that it reflects the growing cooperation between the two countries.
“We are grateful for this unconditional support. These vehicles will enhance our efficiency, particularly in diplomatic engagements, the reception of international guests, and various ministry operations,” he said.
International affairs analysts have noted that the donation places Tanzania in a favorable diplomatic position, given the nature of its relations with Qatar—one of the world’s most economically powerful and influential nations.
Today’s event in Dar es Salaam was attended by officials from the ministry and representatives from the Qatari Embassy in Tanzania. It forms part of the ongoing collaboration between the two countries, especially in the areas of energy, tourism, education, and employment.
